Combining health, community services, education, design and technology expertise to produce and supply human, physical and virtual lifestyle tools. At Understanding Living we cater to the health and architecture sectors, and also offer services direct to individuals. Our unique combination of knowledge means we understand lifestyle issues, from decision-making to dysphasia, from a user perspective, and have the know-how to then respond flexibly to each situation, individual and environment.
Technology Reimagined Computers, smart phones, micro health sensors, virtual reality. All these technologies are evolving at an unprecidented rate. By harnessing the value in these exciting developments we can design interfaces, products, systems and service solutions to create opportunities and improve outcomes in many different areas. Environmental Simulation Understanding Living can deliver specified, environmentally-situated virtual and 3D simulations for the design, building, health, disability and education sectors. These products allow architects and designers to simulate access experiences, especially for people with impairment, prior to construction, in order to meaningfully incorporate user perspectives in the design process. Similarly, educators and service providers can use these experiences for individual or group education and advocacy purposes. For the architectural sector, we also provide full BIM services. Where relevant, Understanding Living can provide augmented reality experiences. |
Design & Review The uniqueness of every person, situation and environment informs differing approaches to solve similar problems. By gathering this data and applying client focussed, outcome oriented information at critical points in the design and/or review processes ensures that the solution meets the needs of the user. Social Social interaction is important in informing our sense of self and helping us grow and develop and integrate with the world around us. For many people social interaction is difficult. The manefestation of this difficulty may be due to physical or intellectual barriers, depression or other mental illness, isolation or opportunity availability. At Understanding Living we have a strong focus on the needs of individuals to connect with the world around them. This focus allows us to advise service providers in providing tailored programs, events and services to meet the social aspects that are often lacking in the lives of their clients. |
